It provides an opportunity for organisations to reflect, learn, and commit to making inclusion a core part of their culture and everyday practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, NIW will take place from <strong>15th\u201321st September<\/strong>. It\u2019s a chance to go beyond awareness-raising and ensure that inclusion is embedded into systems, strategies, and behaviours across all levels of an organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This Year\u2019s Theme \u2013 \u201cNow is the Time\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2025 theme, <strong>#NowIsTheTime<\/strong>, stresses urgency and resilience in inclusion work. In a climate where some diversity and equity efforts face challenge or resistance, it calls for practical, measurable action that makes inclusion sustainable and impactful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key points behind the theme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inclusion can\u2019t wait<\/strong> \u2013 every organisation can take steps now.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Measure impact<\/strong> \u2013 use data to evidence value and track progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Go beyond tokenism<\/strong> \u2013 aim for meaningful change, not symbolic gestures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Build resilience<\/strong> \u2013 inclusion must thrive even in times of change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Everyone plays a role<\/strong> \u2013 inclusion covers all protected characteristics and dimensions of diversity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Checklist for Designing, Planning, and Delivering NIW Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before NIW (Now \u2013 14 September)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Create an NIW plan<\/strong> \u2013 identify objectives, themes, and intended outcomes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engage your workforce early<\/strong> \u2013 run a planning session or Q&amp;A to gather ideas and secure commitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Raise awareness<\/strong> \u2013 use internal channels to count down to the week, share key messages, and invite staff to get involved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Identify resources<\/strong> \u2013 prepare activities, presentations, case studies, and discussion prompts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During NIW (15\u201321 September)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Launch with impact<\/strong> \u2013 host a keynote, panel discussion, or interactive workshop on the theme \u201cNow is the Time\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run daily themes or challenges<\/strong> \u2013 for example:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Day 1: Allyship in Action<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Day 2: Neuroinclusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Day 3: Inclusive Leadership<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Day 4: Intersectionality in the Workplace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Day 5: Tackling Bias in Everyday Decisions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Facilitate engagement<\/strong> \u2013 use quizzes, storytelling sessions, or employee-led talks to share experiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Offer bite-sized learning<\/strong> \u2013 such as micro trainings on psychological safety, inclusive language, or active bystander skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Celebrate progress<\/strong> \u2013 share successes, highlight diverse voices, and connect inclusion to organisational goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After NIW (22 September onwards)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Evaluate the week<\/strong> \u2013 collect feedback from staff and assess against your objectives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Publish commitments<\/strong> \u2013 share an action plan with timelines and responsibilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Track and report impact<\/strong> \u2013 measure changes in engagement, retention, and organisational culture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep momentum<\/strong> \u2013 integrate NIW outcomes into ongoing diversity and inclusion strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Impact You Can Make<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By actively participating in NIW and embedding its principles, organisations can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase employee engagement and sense of belonging.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve retention and recruitment by creating a workplace where everyone feels valued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster innovation through diverse perspectives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce bias in decision-making processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen organisational resilience during times of change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is National Inclusion Week?
